Mr. and Mrs. Renner!

Katy and Clint got married in Jamaica on April 8...it was such a fun time, and although we missed our Nashman – we managed to enjoy the time on the beach with family and no babies (and a few frozen drinks)!  Nannie and Opa were so sweet to stay with Nash while we were gone.  We picked up Nannie and Opa from the airport on a Tuesday evening, and we flew out Wednesday morning.

We spent Wednesday through Sunday in Jamaica, and celebrated with Katy and Clint and our families.  Clint’s parents and brother and sister were all able to come, we got to meet Paige and her family for the first time.  They got married on Friday afternoon at 4:00, and it couldn’t have been prettier.    The ceremony was perfect….small and private, barefoot in the sand, on the beach.  I was the “official” photographer – and ended up having to change dresses after the wedding and before the wedding dinner because I was running around like a crazy person trying to get all of the shots I wanted.  Ha – needless to say – I was a little warm!

We arrived back in Nashville to a house full of “snarfy” (Nannie’s word) people.  Nannie, Opa, and Nash all had a cold and weren’t feeling so great.  I think Nash was the best of all of them…his cold seemed to clear up in a few days while Nannie and Opa felt pretty terrible for the rest of that week.  They had a big time while we were gone…walking Roscoe dog, going to the park, visiting the Hermitage, visiting state parks – and I’m sure there were plenty of cuddles and kisses.  We really are so blessed and so lucky they were willing to fly to Nashville to stay with our special little dude – THANK YOU Nannie and Opa!

OK….now for some Jamaica/wedding pics.  These are a few of my favorites…enjoy!  We can't wait to celebrate with more family and friends at their reception in June!

They Survived!

This weekend was the first time I've ever left my sweet baby....and although I knew I was leaving him in the wonderful hands of Daddy, it was still hard.  I spent the weekend in the Smoky Mountains near Chattanooga with some amazing friends.  We rented the cutest little cottage - complete with swinging rope bed, wrap around porch, and hot tub - and we never left.  I'm not even sure I got out of my pajamas on Saturday.  Wait...yes, I got out of them to shower and put on clean pj's.  ha.  So - it was amazing, and I love my friends so much.  We mostly talked about our babies, of course....and did our best to "brag" on our husbands while we were away.

It was such a fun time - but I was so excited to get back to my boys!

Nash's First Thanksgiving!

Wow.  We have SO much to be thankful for this year....a happy, healthy, amazing kiddo named Nash Thomas.  He's truly the light of our days and I can't fathom him not being in our lives.  We have had an amazing year, supported by so many family and friends throughout the months.  From Nash's birth, to deciding on a new job for Matt, to quitting my job, to moving to Hendersonville, new jobs, and finally finding a home we love...we are so blessed.  God truly does have a plan - and even though it was difficult to trust in that (moving to a new town with hardly any friends with a 5 month old), it has all worked out and we are so thankful.

Holidays are always a great time to see family and get to relax....but something about having kiddos surrounding you makes it even more special.  This year was Indiana's year for Thanksgiving, so Nash got to hang out with his cousins Macy and Mya, his aunties Jessi and Katy, uncles Ty and Clint, and Grandma Kay and Grandpa Joey.

We drove home on Tuesday evening and got to my parents house late...Nash was wide awake for a few hours when we got home - and made for a long day on Wednesday.  My family was passing around a pretty yucky tummy bug while we were home, so we were sure to steer clear of that and it actually worked!  We avoided the bug, even though it meant we didn't get to see Daddy very much for a few days.  He was sure to make up for lost time with Nash (see pic below).  We just made the most of visiting family...Daddy fried a turkey on Friday evening, and we took off for Bloomington on Saturday morning.  Unfortunately, Nash wasn't a fan of great grandma Harshman's homemade dumplings just yet....boy, does he have a lot to learn!  :)

We also got to visit great grandpa Nash before driving back to Nashville, it was so good to see him.  He seems to be doing well with his radiation/chemo treatments - so hopefully that continues and he keeps feeling pretty good!

How about some cuteness in pictures?  I thought so...

LOVE this pic of Macers....isn't she gorgeous??

Spoiled at Kentucky Lake!

At the end of July, we all took off for a week of relaxing at a lake house on Kentucky Lake.  We were meeting my family (mom, dad, Jessi, Tyler, Macy, Mya, Katy, Clint, and Grandma Harshman) and Matt's family (mom, dad, Mark) were coming with us for about 4 days.  Aunt Becky, Uncle Brad, Aunt Dianna, and Uncle Dave were going to spend a day with us as well.  How fun!  The house was full of lots of squeals, cuddles, dirty diapers, cuddles, cuteness, ooohs and ahhhs, and ridiculous amounts of cuddles - did I mention that?

We had a great time - Nash had all of his aunts and uncles and grandparents in one place.  What a lucky little guy.  We did a whole lot of nothing - eating well, grilling out, relaxing by the pool, tubing/boating on the lake, and some cornhole.  Nash's sleep habits definitely took a turn for the worst during the week though - we were up at least two hours every night with him, screaming in pain.  Poor baby.  My mom, in all of her baby wisdom, asked if we had considered reflux - and sure enough, after researching all of the symptoms of reflux...he had pretty much every one of them.  I called his doctor back in Nashville and she agreed with our assessment and called in a prescription for baby Zantac.  Sure enough, the first night he was on it - no screaming in pain.  He's been on it ever since and our household is sleeping so much better for it!

Nannie and Opa and Mark had to leave us on Wednesday, and we were sad to see them go!  We spent the rest of the week doing more of the same...it was a great time!  It's always good to get back home and get back into our routine, but we loved being able to hang out with our families for such an extended period of time.  We always miss them when we're away, and wish we were closer!

We barely remembered to take any pictures while we were there...

Beach Trip! Nash's First Vacation!

Nash's first vacation.....to the beaches of Dauphin Island, Alabama.  We drove down on Memorial Day weekend and met our good friends - the O'Neals - at our beach house.  Their kiddos Gretchen and Harper are the sweetest little girls and we had a great time during our 5 days there.  We lucked out in terms of the oil spill...the oil didn't reach the coast of Dauphin Island until the end of our stay.  It was extremely sad to see the dolphins and pelicans in their natural habitat, knowing that a day is approaching where they will have no where to go and the oil will be destroying their homes.  We spent our time on the island relaxing, eating, drinking, and enjoying our time with good friends. Nash loved the water and his toes in the sand and was the cutest little beach bum ever!  We had a great vacation, and the relaxation was a great way to prepare for the craziness that would commence upon our arrival back in Memphis - packing and moving!  Proof of relaxation below:

Still hoping these blue eyes are going to stick around!

Mid-afternoon champagne - one of the many perks of vacation.
First time in the ocean!

Cutest little footprints.  Ever.
